Follow these steps to make your life easier on move day
We understand moving can be stressful, at Moving & Grooving we understand the economic climate is hard for everyday Australian's and cost of services are not cheap. Read our breif article here, that could save you a lot of money, time and making a decision booking with the right company.
Prioritise the safety of your furniture
Reducing costs is always important to the everyday customer, but it can sometimes lead to unsatisfactory results. Extra packing material costs might not seem attractive to the bank account, but skimping can lead to damaged belongings during your move. Invest in high-quality materials like sturdy boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, and tape. Fragile items need extra care and protection. Adequate packing supplies ensure your belongings are well-secured, minimising the risk of damage.
The good news is that at Moving & Grooving, we supply these packing items at your request and FREE of charge!
This is something we take pride in as part of our high-quality service, included in our hourly rate.
We also have a professional packing team that offers a white-glove service, so you don't have to lift a finger from start to finish!
Secure your moving company ASAP
"Booking a moving company in advance is crucial, especially during peak moving seasons in the spring and summer. At Moving & Grooving, we can help you relax while we take all your belongings anywhere and anytime!
If your job requires only two movers and your property ranges from a studio apartment to a two-bedroom home, we recommend booking 1-2 weeks in advance. If your property exceeds two bedrooms, on average it usually takes a minimum of six movers, so we recommend booking 2 weeks in advance. However, on occasion, we may be able to fit you in!
During our quoting and booking process, we like to be very transparent with our customers and get down to the nitty-gritty details regarding the scope of your potential job with us. From inventory lists, access, flights of stairs, heavy items, and sentimental contents, we love to take the time to go in-depth with you."
Quality over cost when making your decision
"In the moving industry, comparing companies isn’t always straightforward. Opting for the cheapest service can increase risks on moving day, as low-cost providers may lack experience, offer poor customer service and dispute resolution, or even worse, have no insurance for your valuable goods.
These days, Tom and Dick from down the street can hire a truck and offer moving services on Airtasker or Facebook Marketplace, or you can find third-party call centres offering removal services for the cheapest price.
Booking with experienced movers ensures a high-quality service, a streamlined process, and peace of mind, knowing that more care and responsibility will be taken with your furniture.
When choosing your removalist, be sure to check their business registration, Google reviews, and if they have full comprehensive insurance. That way, you can be sure that trained and skilled movers are coming to your property.
Checklist questions:
Is the quoting and booking process efficient?
Do they offer insurance?
Are the movers trained in moving and packing the truck properly?
Does the company have legitimate, positive Google reviews?"
The big day is getting closer, prepare for takeoff
"Preparing ahead for moving day is critical to avoid last-minute issues. Removalists need to be ready and assess your needs beforehand to provide the right resources on the day.
Being transparent with the operations team during the quoting process about what needs to be moved will help avoid underquoting and ensure the movers have the necessary resources on site.
Before the movers arrive, it is highly recommended to do the following:
Have your boxes packed and secured properly, with no loose items or bits and bobs lying around.
Have your boxes packed and secured properly, with no loose items or bits and bobs lying around.
Empty your drawers of clothes and clear out your fridge and freezer.
You can disassemble items to save on labor costs, but if not, we can offer this service free of charge."
